Hi Mukesh Patil,

This requires JavaScript in conjunction with an Action. I would suggest posting your question here and be sure to select the JavaScript category so our experts can assist you:

Hi,

I want to automate a coloring (highlighting) process, please advise how to do it.

Here is the scenario - I have say 50 pdf files and in each file I have to open and use highlighter to specific areas. Lets say, every file has Name and address at fix place which I want to highlight using highlighter. Can I do a automation on this such that without opening the file this properties can be applied? Otherwise if file has to be open, can I copy these highlighter properties from 1st file and apply to remaining 49 files, so that other can also be colored?

Please guide.

Thanks,
Mukesh

Hi,

We will receive a batch of 35 checks, in that we have to extract each check from starting to ending page. Here we will receive the check$ and check# in same place in each check. So that can we automate to extract the check automatically based the condition of check$ and check#.

Please do the needful.

Regards,
Giri

Hi Kiran,

You could use JavaScript to add a digital signature field. For more specifics please ask your question here and be sure to select the JavaScript category:

Hi,
Can you please let me know, what is the best way to automating digital signature placement.
Note: As per our requirement, we need to place more than 50 signatures per document at various positions in a doc.

We have been trying this, but unable to identify that digital signature button/feature object to automate it.
Please let us know on how to identify the object.

Thanks,
Kiran

Hi Sivaraj,

To disable editing, I would apply an Password Security Action that disallows editing. Here’s an example of this type of Action:

Hi Jenny -

You’ll find that the Action Wizard works in a different way from what you’ve experienced in earlier versions. At one time, you could choose virtually any menu command to include in an action or batch sequence. Due to security and other programming issues, what can be accomplished in the Action Wizard has been modified, although the Actions can be quite extensive.

Hi Marcos -

You’ll need to set the security using a password. Choose File > Document Properties > Security. Choose Password Security from the dropdown list, then proceed through the prompts. You’ll need to enter your password twice and pick the security options to apply.

Hi Gabriel -

This video is just a brief overview of what goes into an action. There are a number of other videos that describe and show how to use the tools in detail:

Hi John -

You should be able to edit Acrobat 9 files with Acrobat X (there isn’t a version 9.5 by the way). If you can’t, there are other issues at play:

- you may have an image PDF only, and need to capture the text.
- you may be trying to select the content with the wrong tool.
- you may have security settings applied that prevent making changes to the document.

In all cases, these issues apply to any version, not just Acrobat 9 and X.

Bad video, the actions must be slower, you must think that the person watching a tutorial wants to learn and the motions must be slower.

I can not read or edit PDF files from Acrobat 9.5 with Acrobat X. Is there any way of doing this?
Regards, John
