What is Acrobat DC?

You need Acrobat and not just the free Reader in order to print to PDF.

I am using the free DC version on a new computer and the print to pdf feature doesn’t show up in my list of available printers. ANy ideas?

Try turning of Protected Mode under Edit > Preferences > Security (enhanced) to see if this is somehow interfering.

hello i have 2 computers with the adobe reader dc and every time i run it on either computer it freezes .i have uninstalled and reinstalled and it keeps freezing them

Yes, currently Windows thumbnail only work for 32-bit systems in the most recent update of Acrobat DC.

Did you know that on the Windows version of Acrobat, you can drag the thumbnail page image right into a particular folder in Windows Explorer?

I have a PDF report downloaded from our server. Each page needs to be saved in a separate folder on my computer.  I have tried to extract and save but am having difficulty seeing where the file goes after extraction.

We have a third-party document viewer in our inhouse application for artwork management (approval and review of artworks). Our current viewer for PDF is unable to support gradients or blend effect used in the artworks that are converted to pdf documents. Would like to check if Acrobat DC can replace our third-party viewer. In a nut-shell ,we need the document to be reviewed by multiple users and stored on centrally while moving with a unique identification nos allocated by our application.

Are you attempting to download one of the Action Exchange files with a .sequ extension? If so, you’ll need Acrobat Pro. to open and run.

Hi ken C,

In Acrobat XI you can use the Tools > Document Processing > Manage Embedded Index command to speed up the search. Or, since this is going on a CD, and if you have the Pro. version, you can use the Catalog feature. You’ll find this under Tools > Document Processing > Full Text Index With Catalog.

I am downloading any file from goole chrome in PDF format but unfortunately its convert in an action file. and not open in adobe acrobat reader. so i need your helap.

I am using Acrobat XI.  I have finished 3500 page document and would like to index it to speed up search functions.  There just is nothing I can find in the software to do this.  I was using 9.0 and it was there, so just wondering if I am missing something.  I don’t do a lot of this, so updating to DC is not economical.  This is genealogical information and will be published on CD

In the Comments List pane, if you select the Options dropdown, there is a command to Export Selected to Data File. This will allow you to export the highlight comments that you have selected to a text file.

To find out more about the problem check the box “Create Protected Mode log” under Edit > Preferences > Security (Enhanced). This is also where you can disable protected mode.

So Acrobat was working just fine and then a few days ago it updated to Acrobat DC. Since then, whenever I try to open a PDF document, I get the following error message: “Adobe Acrobat Reader DC cannot open in Protected Mode due to an incompatibility with your system configuration. Would you like to open Adobe Acrobat Reader DC with Protected Mode disabled?”. I have tried to find instructions on what to do to resolve the configuration issue, so far have found nothing. Please provide instructions on how to resolve this issue. Thank you.

Are you combining these into a Portfolio? If so, the Portfolios use Flash. In more recent versions of Acrobat/Reader Flash was decoupled from the product. So, it’s recommended that you update the Flash player (this is different from the Flash web plug-in).

Have a slight problem that I haven’t come across before. We are running the latest Acrobat XI Pro with Flash Player 17. When we go to combine multiple documents into a single pdf file, the Flash player appears when the documents are combined saying “Flash player needs to be updated” then the file is lost. Any ideas as to what is causing this or a workaround that I can utilise
